GAT General (C)

Introduction

GAT General (C) /Graduate assessment test is conducted by NTS (National Testing Service) for admissions in M.Phil. programmes of King Edward Medical University, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad and different programmes of Dow University Karachi.

  • It is conducted five to six times a year.
  • The passing percentage is 50 %
  • It is valid for two years.
  • You can retake the test in order to improve your marks. In case you fail to improve, your previous scores remain valid.
Marks Distribution
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Verbal Reasoning: 45%
  • Quantitative Reasoning: 35%
  • Analytical Reasoning: 20%

Preparation

Major Portions: Major portions to be covered are:

  • Verbal Reasoning: English: Vocabulary, Grammar and Comprehension.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: Math: Arithmetic, Geometry and Data Processing.
  • Analytical Reasoning: Critical and logical thinking and writing skills.

Books and Material:

  1. Being a doctor, you need less than one week time for preparation and scoring good marks.
  2. Being a doctor, you will be above average in English. You need to refresh your grammatical knowledge only.
  3. Being a doctor, you will also be good at analytical reasoning (critical and logical thinking and writing skills). You just need more practice for this section.
  4. For Mathematics; you need to do some basic arithmetic and geometry questions. This task needs time for 2-3 days.
  5. There are a lot of books which have been published for “GAT General C” but the book by Dogar publisher is a good one. It will cover all the basic concepts. You do not need to revise the complete book but the topic of basic interest.

Applications should reach the NTS office latest by the last date of submission of the Registration Form. NTS will not be responsible for late receiving of applications through Courier / Pakistan Post etc.
