The CPSP Council in its 197th Meeting considered the difficulties faced by trainees in getting timely acceptance and publication of articles in CPSP approved Journals. In order to overcome this issue & help the trainees, it has been decided to include Y, X and W category HEC approved Journals in the list of CPSP approved Journals, with immediate effect.
This issues with the approval of Competent Authority (Vide Ref # CPSP/Sec/2022/250 Dated 2nd June 2022)
How does it affect CPSP Trainees?
Previously CPSP enlisted only 16 Pakistani journals for acceptance of papers (Refer to the post at this link), but due to difficulties faced by trainees in getting timely acceptance and publication of articles, CPSP has now decided to include Y, X and W categories HEC approved Journals in the list of CPSP approved Journals. What are these different Categories?
HEC/ HJRS categorizes a research journal into three categories – W, X and Y– where W is the highest recognized category followed by X and Y within each subject area and its associated sub-categories.
What is HJRS?
HEC Journal Recognition System i.e., A collection of research journals that are categorized into three different categories – W, X and Y — within their respective knowledge areas on the basis of a number of internationally benchmarked and recognized parameters that measure the quality of a journal. The relative position and category of each journal are computed by a proprietary algorithm that is designed with the objective of promoting quality research across various disciplines.
